Congratulations to Year 12 Visual Arts student, Ava Kobus who was notified this week that her HSC Body of Work, has been selected for ARTEXPRESS.

ARTEXPRESS is an annual exhibition of exemplary artworks created by students for the HSC in Visual Arts. Ava will be showcased as part of ARTEXPRESS at the Art Gallery of New South Wales and at Mudgee Arts Precinct (MAP).

Ava's Body of Work, Family Folklore: Tales of Earth, Sea and Fire, examines cultural and familial history from a fantastical perspective by merging mythological elements with stories passed down through from family. Layered prints carved from linoleum capture stories in motion as it recounts the families personal encounter with dangerous journeys of migration, unstable societies and hopes for a better world.
