Scholarships available for students entering Years 5, 7, 9 and 11

Penrith Anglican College is pleased to offer scholarships to students at the following entry points:

  • Entering Year 5 – Academic, All-Rounder
  • Entering Year 7 – Academic, Music, All-Rounder
  • Entering Year 9 – Academic, All-Rounder, Visual Arts
  • Entering Year 11 – Academic, Music, All-Rounder, Visual Arts

We encourage students who are willing to participate in all aspects of College life to take up this opportunity to study at Penrith Anglican College, where they will enable students to maximise their potential and prepare them to thrive in a changing world.

Applications for 2026 will open Monday 23 September 2024 and close midnight AEDST Sunday 2 February 2025.

Testing will take place on Saturday 22 February 2025.

Visual Arts

The Visual Arts Scholarship is offered to new or currently enrolled students entering Years 9 or 11 who demonstrate a particular flair in their artistic and/or design ability. Students applying for this scholarship will demonstrate a creative ability as well as the potential to achieve excellence scholastically in areas of Art and Design. It is assumed that any applicant will be proactive in developing their practical skills and understanding of Art historical and critical study.

All applicants for Visual Arts Scholarships are required to:

  • Sit the ACER Test;
  • Be a currently enrolled student or have submitted an application and paid the application fee;
  • Provide a portfolio with examples of the applicant’s own drawings, designs and/or artworks. Each folder and artwork is to be clearly labelled with the Student’s name and Year. Please submit copies or photographs not the original work. Portfolios should be delivered to College reception clearly labelled with the student’s name, contact details and marked to the Attention of the Registrar.
  • Visual Arts scholarships are awarded to students entering Year 9 or 11 in 2026 on the basis of the ACER scholarship examination as well as the submission of a portfolio.

Conditions:

  • The Scholarship is offered for School Fees only. All other charges (i.e. the Non-Refundable Deposit, each term’s Service Fee and Uniform costs) are not covered by the Scholarship.
  • The Scholarship is offered for each year of Secondary schooling but is subject to annual review by the Principal. In this review the Principal will examine the Scholarship holder’s academic record over the past year as well as their contribution to the full life of the College community. Both need to be deemed satisfactory for the Scholarship to be extended into the next academic year. The Principal's decision regarding the continuation of the Scholarship is final.

Academic

Penrith Anglican College offers Academic Scholarships providing full or part remission of tuition fees to students on the basis of results obtained in the ACER scholarship examinations. Academic scholarships are available to students entering Years 5, 7, 9 and 11 each year.

The offer of a Scholarship is subject to the following conditions:

  • Completion of a College Application form and payment of Application fee
  • The Scholarship is offered for School Fees only. All other fees (i.e. the Non-Refundable Deposit, each term’s Service Fee and Uniform Costs are not covered by the Scholarship)
  • The Scholarship is offered for each year of schooling but is subject to annual review by the Principal. In this review the Principal will examine the Scholarship holder’s academic record over the past year as well his/her contribution to the full life of the College community. Both need to be deemed satisfactory for the Scholarship to be extended into the next academic year
  • The Principal's decision regarding the continuation of the Scholarship is final.

Music

Music scholarships are awarded to students entering either Year 7 or Year 11 in 2026 on the basis of the ACER scholarship examination as well as a music audition.

The offer of an Music Scholarship is subject to the following conditions:

  • Completion of a College Application form and payment of Application fee
  • The student has competed the Music Scholarship application form below, which is to be directly returned to the College
  • The Scholarship is offered for School Fees only. All other charges (i.e. the Non-Refundable Deposit, each term’s Service Fee and Uniform costs) are not covered by the Scholarship.
  • The Scholarship is offered for each year of Secondary schooling but is subject to annual review by the Principal. In this review the Principal will examine the Scholarship holder’s academic record over the past year as well as their contribution to the full life of the College community. Both need to be deemed satisfactory for the Scholarship to be extended into the next academic year
  • The Principal's decision regarding the continuation of the Scholarship is final.

A Music Application form available here to be completed and returned to the College by the close of Application in February each year.

Candidates should include with their Music Scholarship application the following documentation:

- Any recognised musical institution awards and certificates (e.g. AMEB)

- Proof of current dedication and commitment to school music and extra-curricular music activities.

Students seeking a Music Scholarship into the College must apply and sit for the ACER scholarship exam and a Music Scholarship Audition

All-rounder

All-Rounder Scholarships are determined primarily on the basis of the interview with the College Principal and a student portfolio, but will also be influenced by the ACER scholarship examinations in the year preceding entry.

All-Rounder Scholarships may be awarded to students entering Year 5, 7, 9 or 11, who demonstrate a broad range of talents and attributes. Recipients will be deemed as having the potential to contribute significantly to the College community.

Penrith Anglican College offers All-rounder Scholarships providing full or part remission of tuition fees to students.

The offer of an All-rounder Scholarship is subject to the following conditions:

  • Completion of a College Application form and payment of Application fee
  • The student has submitted a hard copy portfolio to the College (see details below).
  • The Scholarship is offered for School Fees only. All other charges (i.e. the Non-Refundable Deposit, each term’s Service Fee and Uniform costs) are not covered by the Scholarship.
  • The Scholarship is offered for each year of Secondary schooling but is subject to annual review by the Principal. In this review the Principal will examine the Scholarship holder’s academic record over the past year as well as their contribution to the full life of the College community. Both need to be deemed satisfactory for the Scholarship to be extended into the next academic year
  • The Principal's decision regarding the continuation of the Scholarship is final.

Portfolio

A hard copy portfolio of the applicant’s achievements must also be submitted by the closing date 2 February 2025.

The hard copy portfolio should include:

  • One-page summary of key achievements (optional)
  • Copies of school reports for the past two years
  • NAPLAN results
  • Academic, sporting, music and community certificates
  • Any other documents you feel are relevant to your child’s application
  • Handwritten statement from the student addressing why they think they should be considered for the Scholarship.
